For some reason, I have been blissfully unaware of the origin of the name of the Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth's name took inspiration from King Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson. The implication was that Bluetooth was to unite communication similar to how King Harald united the clans of Denmark.
